What is HYLO-TEAR®?
HYLO-TEAR® is a sterile, phosphate- and preservative-free solution containing 0.1% sodium hyaluronate, citrate buffer, sorbitol and water,
What is HYLO-TEAR® used for?
HYLO-TEAR® is a lubricating eye drop for the treatment of all symptoms of dry eye. HYLO-TEAR® offers long lasting soothing relief.
What is HYLO-TEAR® used for?
To keep your eyes healthy, the surface should be constantly lubricated with tear film. If your eyes are itchy, gritty, tired, red, or have a burning sensation, this may be due to the quality and/or quantity of the film.
HYLO-TEAR® contains sodium salt of hydrochloric acid, a natural substance found in the eye and other parts of the body. Its viscoelastic property allows it to form a stable, long-lasting lubricating film on the surface of the eye, which relieves symptoms of dry eye.
How to use HYLO-TEAR®?
Please do not use HYLO-TEAR® if any part of the protective seal on the collapsible box is broken or damaged before using it for the first time.
The foundation of the system:
To refill the system, remove the lid and turn the HYLO-TEAR® bottle upside down with the tip pointing down.
Place two fingers on the base and your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle, press the base and release. Repeat this several times until the first drop is released. The bottle is now filled.
General use:
Remove the cap and turn the HYLO-TEAR® bottle upside down.
Hold the bottle with the other hand.
To hold the bottle: place two fingers on the base and your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle. Tilt your head back slightly, pulling your lower eyelids down. Press the base of the bottle. This allows the bottle to release a drop into the conjunctive pouch. Release and repeat for the other eye.
After each application, slowly close the eye to allow the liquid to spread evenly over the surface of the eye.
The design of the COMOD® valve system ensures that the size and velocity of each droplet is the same regardless of the pressure applied to the base of the bottle.
Avoid contact with the tip of the bottle and your eyes or skin during use.
Before replacing the lid, check that the tip is dry.
HYLO-TEAR® releases approximately 300 drops of solution (10 ml). A small amount always remains in the bottle at the end of its lifetime. This is normal.
HYLO-TEAR® can be used for up to 6 months after opening. The bottle should be discarded after 6 months of use. Do not allow others to use the HYLO-TEAR®.
Other information
If you are using other eye drop medication, please allow at least 30 minutes after application before applying HYLO-TEAR®. However, eye ointments should be applied after HYLO-TEAR® has been used.
As HYLO-TEAR® is phosphate- and preservative-free, it is well tolerated even when used for prolonged periods of time.
Hypersensitivity reactions are rare, but if you experience burning or excessive pain, please stop using HYLO-TEAR®.
If your symptoms do not disappear, please consult your doctor immediately.
If you are a contact lens wearer and experience such a reaction, please check to see if there has been a change in the contact lens solution as this may be the cause of the reaction.
There are no restrictions on the use of HYLO-TEAR® in children or in pregnant or breast-feeding women.
